1.What is Bearing?
Bearings allow for efficient rolling and turning of shafts and are implemented into power transfer systems to accommodate motion and force. Force, or load combined with motion, creates friction between two surfaces. Bearings relieve this friction and allow for smooth, effective transfer of motion.
Bearings can be broadly grouped into two main egories: plain and rolling element. And, there are three general types of motion; rotary (turning on a fixed point), linear (sliding or rolling along an axis), and combined motion (both rotary and linear).
Each type of bearing has a specific and intended use. Several factors need to be considered when selecting a bearing for an appliion. These include: shaft size, material type, mounting space, rotary or linear speed, type and mount of load, environmental conditions, and performance requirements.
Introduction of deep groove ball bearing:
Deep groove ball bearings are non separable and require little attention or maintenance in service, capable of operating at high speeds and are widely used radial bearings. The inner and outer ring of single row deep groove ball bearings have a deep groove raceway, the bearings are mainly used to carry radial loads and a part of axial loads in two directions. This kind of bearing can carry much heavy axial loads after the increase of radial clearance, thus, it can take the place of high speed angular contact ball bearings. Deep groove ball bearing have various types in structure, beside open type bearings, shield or seals at both side can also be provided.
Single Row Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Single row deep groove ball bearings are the most commonly used bearing type, which can accommodate radial and thrust loads. These bearings can be used at high speeds. The self-aligning capacity of deep groove ball bearings is limited; therefore the bearing loions must be accurately aligned.
Double Row Deep Groove Ball Bearings Double row deep groove ball bearings have, contrary to their former design, no filling slots. This is the reason that these bearings can accommodate thrust loads in both directions. These are fitted with cages of glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 66 and lubried with grease. This ball bearing is not suitable, where angular misalignments have to be accommodated.
